Croft Circuit’s big Dunlop British Touring Car event in June will include the return of MG’s factory team with Croft crowd favourite Jason Plato at the wheel of one of its MG6 GT racers.
MG Motor UK confirmed this morning (Weds) it is returning to Britain’s premier motor racing championship which comes to Croft near Darlington on the weekend of 23-24 June. Tickets for the event cost just £24 for the Sunday (race day) while admission for children aged 15 and under is FREE all weekend. See the http://www.croftcircuit.co.uk/croft/tickets/btcc.html web page to book a trackside view of the action as well as for other ticketing options available that weekend.
Double champion Plato is always a big hit with visitors to the event thanks to his North East roots and it will be fascinating to see how his new MG stacks up against old rival and reigning champ Matt Neal’s new Honda Civic. Both are factory teams with new cars designed and built to the new turbo NGTC regulations so expect another titanic battle to be played out on the Croft race track.
Plato, with an unrivalled 68 race wins in the BTCC to his name, said: “It’s really exciting to be involved in a brand new all-British team and it’s just brilliant that the iconic name of MG will be back on the track.”
